Welcome to EasyPDF ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data and files. EasyPDF is designed as a privacy-first, local-first mobile utility application available on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store).

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, collected, processed, and protected when you use the EasyPDF mobile application. This document is crafted to satisfy the strict privacy guidelines and disclosure policies of the Google Play Console (Data Safety Section), Apple App Store Connect (App Privacy Section), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

2. Information We Do NOT Collect (Local-First Guarantee)

Unlike cloud-dependent document processing services, EasyPDF operates primarily on your device's local sandbox:

  • No User Content / Document Uploads: Your PDF files, images, digital signatures, drawings, text annotations, and organized documents remain 100% stored locally on your device. We do NOT operate remote document servers, cloud backup engines, or server-side OCR tools. EasyPDF never reads, uploads, scans, or transmits your files.
  • No Personal Identity Information: We do NOT collect your name, email address, physical address, phone number, contacts, or government identifiers. No account creation, login, or registration is required to use EasyPDF.
  • No Biometric Data Access: If you use the Secure Vault feature with Apple Face ID, Touch ID, or Android BiometricPrompt, all biometric authentication operations are handled exclusively by your mobile operating system hardware. EasyPDF receives only a pass/fail confirmation from the OS and never accesses, collects, sees, or stores your biometric templates or credentials.
  • No Financial Account Data: Financial transactions for in-app purchases are handled directly by Apple App Store Billing or Google Play Store Billing. EasyPDF does not receive, store, or process credit card numbers or bank account details.

3. Information Collected by Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)

To support the free, ad-supported tier of EasyPDF without requiring recurring user subscriptions, the application integrates third-party software development kits (SDKs), specifically Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC).

Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain non-personal device information to deliver advertisements, prevent fraud, and measure ad performance:

4. Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT) Disclosures (iOS 14.5+)

On iOS devices, EasyPDF complies fully with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) policy. When required, the app will request your explicit permission before accessing your device's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).

  • If Permission Granted: Google AdMob uses your device IDFA to deliver personalized advertisements tailored to your interests.
  • If Permission Denied or Restricted: Google AdMob limits tracking and serves non-personalized, contextual advertisements only.
  • Equal Feature Access: Core app features—including PDF viewing, signing, metadata sanitization, and vault storage—remain 100% functional regardless of your ATT tracking choice.

5. In-App Purchases & Financial Disclosures

EasyPDF offers an optional Lifetime Pro Purchase ($9.99 USD one-time purchase) to permanently remove advertisements and unlock unlimited feature access.

  • Store Billing Processing: All payments are processed entirely by Apple App Store Connect (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing.
  • No Financial Data Access: EasyPDF never handles or stores payment card information.
  • Local Entitlement Verification: Purchase verification receipts are validated locally on your device via native store APIs and saved to system-encrypted local storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences).

6. Rewarded Video Ads & 1-Hour Temporary Passes

Free users may voluntarily choose to watch a Rewarded Video Advertisement served by Google AdMob to claim a 1-Hour Temporary Pro Pass for Vault and Organizer features.

  • Voluntary Action: Watching a rewarded video ad is 100% user-initiated.
  • Local Expiry Tracking: Temporary pass timers and daily claim limits are stored strictly in your device's local encrypted keychain. No ad viewing history or personal data is transmitted to external servers.

7. Data Storage, Encryption & Security

EasyPDF implements robust technical security measures to safeguard your local files and settings:

  • AES-256 Vault Encryption: Documents stored in the Secure Vault are encrypted using AES-256 / AES-CBC cryptographic standards before being written to disk.
  • System-Encrypted Keychains: Cryptographic keys and application preferences are stored in hardware-backed storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences and KeyStore).
  • Data Encrypted in Transit: All third-party network communications executed by the Google AdMob SDK use encrypted HTTPS/TLS protocols.
  • Local Sandbox Isolation: Files remain isolated within the operating system app sandbox, preventing unauthorized access by other applications.

8. User Privacy Rights & Data Deletion Requests

8.1 Data Control Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

Under applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), users have specific rights regarding personal data:

  • Right to Opt-Out of Ad Personalization: You can opt out of targeted advertising at any time through your OS settings:
    • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking or Apple Advertising.
    • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Delete or Reset Advertising ID.
  • Right to Data Deletion: Because EasyPDF does not operate user accounts or cloud databases, we do not hold your personal data on external servers.

8.2 How to Delete All App Data

To permanently wipe all local data, cached documents, settings, and encrypted vault files:

  1. Delete or uninstall the EasyPDF application from your device.
  2. The operating system will instantly and automatically purge the app sandbox, deleting all stored Hive database files, vault documents, and keychain entries.

9. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families Policy)

EasyPDF is a general utility application intended for audiences aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly direct the app to or collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If we learn that non-personal ad data from a child under 13 has been collected via third-party ad networks, we will take immediate steps to address compliance with Google AdMob.

10. Regional & State Privacy Disclosures

10.1 European Economic Area (EEA) & UK (GDPR Disclosures)

  • Data Controller: EasyPDF operates as a local-first utility. Google LLC acts as a independent data controller for advertising data processed by Google AdMob.
  • Legal Basis for Processing: Processing of advertising identifiers relies on user consent (via ATT on iOS or Google Ad Consent on Android) or legitimate interest for fraud detection and ad delivery.

10.2 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA Disclosures)

  • Categories of Data Shared: Device Identifiers (IDFA/GAID) and coarse IP location shared with Google AdMob for advertising.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: EasyPDF does not "sell" personal information for monetary value. Sharing device identifiers with AdMob for cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered "sharing" under CCPA. Users can opt out via OS advertising settings as detailed in Section 8.
