MySciTech ("the App") is an educational application developed to provide interactive science and mathematics learning through quizzes and simulations. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, particularly children, and ensuring a safe learning environment.

2. Data Collection and Usage

2.1 Personal Information

The App is designed as an offline-first experience. We do not collect, store, or transmit any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.

2.2 Local Data Storage

All user progress, including quiz scores, experiment states, and science fact notifications, is stored locally on your device. This data is not synchronized with any external servers or third-party databases.

3. Device Permissions and Sensors

To facilitate the interactive Flame Engine simulations, the App requests access to specific device features. Data from these sensors is processed in real-time and is never recorded or transmitted:

  • Microphone: Used in the "Balloon Car" mini-game to detect volume levels (simulating blowing air). No audio data is recorded or stored.

  • Sensors (Gyroscope/Accelerometer): Used in the "Skyscraper" experiment to simulate seismic activity.

  • Notifications: Used to deliver "Science Facts" via the Flutter Local Notifications plugin.

  • Audio/Storage: Used to access and play local sound assets for gameplay feedback.

4. Third-Party Services

The App is built using the Flutter framework and the Flame Game Engine. It utilizes the following local libraries:

  • Flame & Forge2D: For physics and game simulations.

  • Audioplayers: For local sound effect playback.

  • Flutter Local Notifications: For scheduling daily educational facts.

These services do not have access to your personal data and do not transmit information to external parties.

5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

As an educational tool, MySciTech is designed for a general audience, including children.

  • We do not collect any personal information from children.

  • We do not include behavioral advertising or tracking.

  • We do not share any data with third parties.

6. Security

While the App does not transmit data, we recommend users secure their devices to protect the local data stored on the app. Because there is no "cloud" account, deleting the app will result in the loss of all locally stored progress.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our features (such as the completion of the "Skyscraper" or "Paper Plane" modules). Any updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
